Retailers speak, TransWorld Business listens and Mervin WINS

Seattle, WA (January 18, 2012) — Retailers nationwide choose Mervin as the action-sports brand of the year in polling by TransWorld Business. Retailers point to Mervin as the brand that created the best partnerships and products, while also doing the most to support shops. The award comes courtesy of Transworld Business who reached out to over 5,000 retailers across surf, skate, snow, wake, moto, and BMX posing open-ended questions about which companies have done the most this year to foster their stores’ growth, goals, and continued success.

Both Lib Tech and Gnu moved into the top five snowboard brands sold at retail last season with early season sales indicating that they will both keep their top five positions for the current season. The NW Mervin crew went to host a demo at Mt. Bachelor and to check out the Dirksen Derby. I have to say: After 23 years of attending the Mt Baker LBS… the Dirksen Derby at Bachelor is an all time event that embodies what is special about our “anti” sport.

Well done Mr. Dirksen and all of the shred community in Bend. I’ll return every year

On April 11th and 12th a select crew of NW Mervin Mfg retailers / rad bros hitched a ride on the Grease Bus out to the Olympic Peninsula to tour the Mervin Mfg Factory and get some good old Olympic powder.

Mervin Mfg. has been making snowboards and skateboards in the great NW since 1987. Makers of Lib Technologies, Gnu and Roxy… we craft each by hand. Only 23 short miles from the factory is a mecca of powder and well earned runs leading back to the road where the Grease Bus was there to pick us up with petroleum free power. A perfect way to test a freshly made shred stick and get Experimental…

Demo out Mervin’s next years 2011-2012 product at Grouse mountain in Vancouver Canada this weekend! We are setting up in conjunction with the Roxy Chickadee Jam. Roxy is excited to introduce the 3rd Annual Roxy Chickadee Jam, an all girls snowboard contest.  The event will take place on March 12th and 13th, 2011 with the chance to win cash and prizes. The winner of the Roxy Chickadee Jam will walk away with cash and the opportunity to showcase her talent at the Annual Roxy Chicken Jam.
